A fascinating winter experience on the Dachstein Krippenstein: guided snowshoe hike with Martha to the World Heritage Spiral and the 5fingers viewing platform.

Martha accompanies you with ease through the wintry mountain world to the 5fingers and the World Heritage Spiral. Breathtaking views of the Dachstein massif, lake Hallstatt and the mountain peaks of the Inner Salzkammergut included!

Guided snowshoe tour per date :

  • morning: 10:00 am to 11:30 am

  • afternoon: 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm

Note: Two guided tours are always offered on each date – one in the morning (10 am) and one in the afternoon (1 pm).

Guided snowshoe tour

5fingers viewing platform and World Heritage spiral

The guided snowshoe tour on Dachstein Krippenstein to 5fingers and World Heritage spiral takes place in the periode of December to March (see schedule) and on request. 

  • Dates: see schedule

  • Guided tours: Two guided tours are always offered on each date.

  • Meeting point: valley station cable car

  • Walking time: duration of the tour ~90 min, afterwards free time

  • Difficulty: easy hike

  • The tour also takes place in bad weather conditions.

Tour 1 morning:

  • meeting point: 9:20 am, valley station Obertraun

  • duration: 10:00 am to 11:30 am

Tour 2 afternoon:

  • meeting point: 12:45 pm, mountain station Krippenstein

  • duration: 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm

Note: You get your snow shoes at the ski rental shop which is located in the valley station.

Right equipment

  • solid hiking boots

  • snowshoes*

  • telescope poles* or ski poles *

  • backpack, thermos jug with hot drink, snack

  • warm clothing: ski underwear, knee socks, fleece sweater, softshell jacket, warm jacket (preferable Goretex), warm outdoor trousers, bonnet, gloves, sunglasses and cream

Equipment for hire* (snowshoes + telescopic sticks) can be rent for a fee. Tipp: Yeti snowshoe ticket!
