Seewand fixed ropes course:

The dizzying heights of Salzkammergut!

The Seewand fixed topes course is not just aimed at expert climbers seeking challenging climbs! If you are less experienced, we recommend a climbing guide from Outdoor Leadership!

The route starts at the car park at the Kessel bathing point between Hallstatt and Obertraun. The climb to the fixed ropes course runs via the Hirschaualm (approx. 30 mins). You should plan around 4-5 hours to complete the Seewand climb.

During the climb, you can enjoy panoramic views of Hallstatt and the Inner Salzkammergut area. The fixed ropes course climb takes place on the Dachstein mountain plateau where youreach the Gjaidalm after around 30 minutes via a beautiful Alpine trail with magnificent Dachstein views. From here, you can take the Dachstein-Krippenstein cable car down into the valley. Completing the descent on foot takes an additional 2 hours (either via the ski descent or from Schafeck/Hanzingerhütte over the Winkler Berg mountain).
